Tips for Finding Full Text

Connect to the library through Google Scholar by adding NYUHSL to your library links.

By modifying your library links in Google Scholar, you can easily connect to NYU Health Science library (HSL) resources directly from your search results.

Add the library bookmarklet to your bookmarks bar.

The library has created a "bookmarklet" to help you access full text articles from off-campus. It works just like a regular bookmark in your web browser, but when you click it, you will be able to login to the NYU Health Sciences Library and access the full text of an article.

Add the LibKey Nomad extension to your browser.

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that connects users with library-licensed and open-access full-text articles. LibKey Nomad is available for most major browsers, including Google Chrome, Firefox, Edge & Safari. When using LibKey Nomad, users are automatically directed to the best available version of an article so there is no need to search multiple places.

Search a DOI or PMID in LibKey.io.

LibKey.io allows users to input a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) or PMID (PubMed Identifier) and connect to the full text of articles available through the NYU Health Sciences Library. It works with all browsers.

Request material we don't have via Interlibrary Loan.

NYU Langone Health users can request books, chapters, journal articles, and other documents that we do not have in our collection at no cost.

Cochrane Library
The Cochrane Library is a collection of six databases that contain different types of high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making, including the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews and the Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effects.
EMBASE
An international biomedical and pharmacological database that provides access to up-to-date information about medical and drug-related subjects with coverage of 5,000+ biomedical journals from 70 countries. Comprehensive inclusion of drug-related information is particularly valuable.
CINAHL Complete
CINAHL indexes 2700+ journals, as well selected books, pamphlets, dissertations, audiovisuals in nursing, allied health, consumer health, biomedicine, and alternative therapy. CINAHL also has full text from selected nursing journals, standards of practice, practice acts, critical pathways, research instruments, and government publications. Unique CINAHL records include legal cases, drug records, accreditation records, and clinical innovations.
Scopus
The largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, features smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research. Scopus delivers the most comprehensive overview of the world's research output in the fields of science, technology, and medicine.
Web of Science
Includes access to three citation databases including Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index and Arts and Humanities Index and provides seamless access to current and retrospective multidisciplinary information from approximately 8,500 high impact research journals.
