Welcome to the NYU HSL orientation page! We have put together 7 tasks for you to complete during your first weeks at NYU. These tasks were designed to help you locate information efficiently.
The NYU HSL is proud to offer NYUGSoM students free access to AMBOSS.

The library provides access to readings for your courses. You can search for individual books or go to the bookshelf library guides to see links to textbooks.
You can access this page in two ways.
First, you can go to this page form the library website, where you will find all textbooks.
Second, you will find bookshelves linked throughout Brightspace, either under Pre-Clerkship Learning Tools in the Home page, or in individual courses, as shown in the image below:
In addition to textbooks, you have access to question banks using the same bookshelf link. To use the question banks:
Start at hslguides.med.nyu.edu/MSGuide
Check out three easy ways to find full-text:
1) Start at hsl.med.nyu.edu In the PubMed search box, enter the following text: police brutality AND medical institutions
2) Click on the second article (or click on this link)
3) Select the Access through NYU HSL button, located on the top right-hand side. This will direct you to the article. If the library does not have access to the article it will direct you to Document Delivery Services, where you can request a PDF.
Use the NYU HSL Bookmarklet! This bookmarklet works just like a regular bookmark in your web browser, but when you click it, you will be able to login to the NYU Health Sciences Library and access the full text of an article.
Look at the PDF below to see how it works!
Access this article through the link below, and click on your installed "Reload via NYUHSL" button
If you need to access book chapters or articles not owned by NYU HSL, you can request this document to be delivered to you — even to your home.
This service is free!
On our homepage, click on request article or book and follow the instructions.
