Evidence-Based Tools for Obstetrics & Gynecology

  • BMJ Clinical Evidence summarises the current state of knowledge - and uncertainty - about interventions used to prevent and treat important clinical conditions by searching and appraising systematic reviews of evidence on the benefits and harms of clinical interventions.
  • EvidenceAlerts is a tool that comes to us as a collaboration from DynaMedl Plus and McMaster University's Health Information Research Unit. You must sign up for this free service. After you have registered, go to "My Profile" and select "Gynecology" and "Obstetrics" to receive free evidence-based e-mail alerts.
  • LactMed Database on Drugs and Lactation is a peer-reviewed and fully referenced database of drugs to which breastfeeding mothers may be exposed. Among the data included are maternal and infant levels of drugs, possible effects on breastfed infants and on lactation, and alternate drugs.
