Connecting to E-resources

Some e-resources will not display correctly or function if the web browser is not configured correctly.  If you are encountering issues, try one or more of the following tips.

Check your WiFi Network. If you're on campus, make sure you are using the secure wifi network. It will be faster, reliable and it will enable IP authentication while on campus.

Try a different web browser. A few examples include Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Try switching to a different browser. Also, check that your using the most up-to-date browser available. Many times databases don't support old versions of browsers.

Clear your cache. Clearing the cache will often solve many display and access problems. When in doubt, reboot the browser once you've cleared the cache.

Delete Cookies. Try deleting cookies, rebooting the browser, and then accessing the e-resource again.

Adjust your pop-up blocker settings. Some e-resources require the use of pop-ups for content delivery. Be sure if you have a pop up blocker on, be sure the blocker allows pop-ups from the specific vendor.

VPN. Off-campus access to library resources work best without a VPN and other tools, instead of using a proxy server to ensure secure connection to library-specific content.
