NYU Study Spaces

24/7 study spaces for medical students:

At the Sid and Ruth Lapidus Health Sciences Library, there are 6 group study rooms (click here to reserve a room), a quiet reading room, and a public area with 30 computers. It is accessible 24/7 with a student ID.

At Eastbridge Landing (the former NYU Child Study Center) at 577 First Avenue, the carrels on the 1st floor are currently unavailable due to construction. However, small rooms on the second floor and conference rooms are available after regular business hours. Medical Center ID is required to access the building at all times.

At Greenberg Hall, apartments 5V-B and 5O have been retro-fitted with study carrels. Conference rooms 6V and 5N are also available from 5pm-8am.

Alumni Hall at Manhattan’s main campus will close temporarily starting October 15, 2020, while the building undergoes a full-scale renovation. The closure includes Farkas Auditorium, Lecture Halls A and B, and the Student Study Center.

Wireless access is available in all of these study spaces. Additionally, students can print using the Pharos system to either of the two printers in the Student Study Center or to the one printer in Vilcek Hall.

At Bellevue Hospital, NYU Langone students, faculty, and staff have full onsite access to the library space during regular business hours. The Bellevue Medical Library is on the 14th floor of the Hospital building (14N12). Unfortunately, wireless access and printing are not available at this location.

At the VA Hospital, NYU Langone students have access to a special temporary study space on the 2nd floor. NYU ID must be used to access this space.

At Bobst Library, NYU Langone students, faculty, and staff have full onsite access and borrowing privileges. The student study spaces on the lower two levels are open 24 hours as long as you have your valid student ID. The rest of Bobst Library has many potential study spaces and a lot of resources and is open 7am - 1am normally. NYU students and faculty should have full access to their wireless network, including all resources. NYU provides shuttle service between NYU Langone Health and the Washington Square campus on Route E. Check the schedules on the following web site:http://www.nyu.edu/public.safety/transportation/routeE.html

Medical students should also be able to use and reserve all graduate student study spaces. For more information on what kinds of study spaces are available in Bobst Library, on what floors they are located, and how to reserve them, please check out their web site.

At the Bern Dibner Library of Science and Technology at NYU-Poly in Brooklyn, NYU Langone students, faculty, and staff are welcome to come and use the study spaces. For more information on this space, please look at their web site: http://library.poly.edu/

At New York Public Library, all members of the public are welcome to use their spaces during regular business hours. With ample space, wi-fi, and electrical outlets, many medical students have found that the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, the main branch of NYPL on 42nd St and Fifth Ave, is a great place for quiet study. Another nearby public library possibility is the Science, Industry and Business Library (SIBL) on 34th St and Madison Ave. For more information on public library locations and hours, please consult their web site: http://www.nypl.org/locations
