About Refworks

RefWorks is available to the NYU community. It is a web-based program you can use to organize your research. RefWorks bibliographies are stored on the RefWorks server and are available from any computer with Internet access

    Set-up RefWorks

    1. Sign-up for RefWorks* (click image):

*If you're creating a new account, you may need the institutional group code which is RWNewYorkU.  The institutional membership automatically includes NYU-proxy information for link-out to full-text.

    2. Download Write-N-Cite under Tools:

Write-N-Cite allows you to cite references from your RefWorks account with just a few clicks. With Write-N-Cite you can choose from thousands of bibliography styles and watch as it instantly formats your in-text citations, footnotes and bibliography.

    3. Get RefGrab-It under Tools:

RefGrab-It is an optional feature for capturing bibliographic information from web pages. It is available as a bookmarklet that works with Internet Explorer and Firefox.
